AMERICAN CANYON ACCEPTING COMMUNITY SUBSIDY GRANT PROPOSALS FROM COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS TO SERVE AMERICAN CANYON RESIDENTS
The City of American Canyon periodically receives requests from community groups for Community Subsidy Grant funds for a variety of reasons. City Council has adopted a policy that identifies how to handle the requests.
The policy identifies a time line for each step of the process, establishes qualifying criteria to apply for funding and criteria for evaluating funding proposals, and delineates reporting requirements.
The deadline to submit proposals for community program subsidy is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. The Parks and Community Services Commission and possibly a subcommittee will review the written proposals and may interview representatives of the proposing organizations. At a meeting in November/December, the Commission will make a recommendation to City Council regarding specific allocations to community groups. City Council will consider the Parks and Community Services Commission’s recommendation at the next feasible Council meeting.
There is one opportunity to apply for funding. However, ten percent of the available funds are set aside for small requests of up to $200.00 that can made throughout the year for needs that could not be anticipated. The total amount of funds that may be allocated for larger proposals is $13,500. No one organization shall receive more than 30% of total cash partnership funds available.
Grant application forms and copies of the policy may be picked up at the Parks and Recreation Department office, 100 Benton Way or you may obtain the forms below. Organizations requesting funds must complete the application form and return it to the Parks and Recreation Department office by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. Late applications will not be considered. If you have any questions, please contact Sherri Cassidy, Administrative Assistant, Parks and Recreation, at 707-647-4569.
